Saudi SASO Water Efficiency Certification and Technical Regulations on Water Saving Efficiency of Water Consumption Equipment have been formally enforced since January 1, 2018.
Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization has announced a new technical regulation to comply with the Saudi government's advocacy of managing energy efficiency for different product types. This regulation covers a variety of discharged water equipment and products for various purposes, thereby managing water consumption. The technical regulation was formally implemented on January 1, 2018.
Water Flow Rate is the key to the regulation. It requires products within the scope of this regulation to apply for a certificate of water saving registration, and to put a water efficiency label on the product to show the water consumption rate of each product.
If the product does not meet the requirements of the new regulations, it will not be able to obtain the Certificate of Conformity (CoC), and can not be successfully cleared and exported to Saudi Arabia.
